With Actions + you only have to choose a category for a particular item, once. Here's how.

Actions + is designed to save you from having to choose the same category again and again for repeated transactions/entries.

Apply Action+ when entering a record

Let's say for example that you often grab an Uber to and from your business meetings.

Now when you record your UBER transaction as an expense, you'll see Actions+ option once you've chosen your category.

  1. Tap on Actions+, and you'll see a pop-up modal asking you if you would like to create an action that automatically categorises any future items by the name of (i.e. UBER) as your chosen category.
  2.  Choosing Yes provides you with two more options: Match similar name and Apply to all

Match similar name

If you apply this option (green), Actions+ knows to apply this action to all items that contain the same name, plus, any additional random characters.

What, Plus any additional random characters, means is that if you happen to call any future item by the same name i.e. UBER, but add additional characters or words: i.e. UBER 1 or UBER TAXI.. , it knows to apply the same action as long as the first word matches your action word.

APPLY TO ALL

If you apply this option (green), Actions+ knows to apply this same action to all new and previous items/records with the same name.

Apply Actions+ to multiple items

You can choose to apply Actions+ to one, or multiple, previously recorded items. Whether you're using your finger (mobile) or mouse (web), here's how you do it:

On Web-app:

  1. Hover over an expense item
  2. click on the tick (running down the left)
  3. and select other items/records that you want to apply the same Action+ too
  4. Choose Actions+ in the top right of the History drawer

On Mobile:

  1. Choose the History Drawer in expenses
  2. Slide an item to the left to select your first item
  3. Tap any on any other items/records that you want to apply the same Action+ too
  4. Choose Actions+ in the top right of the History drawer
